At the age of 19, she published her first debut single, Here. The song received praise both from music critics and listeners. In the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's most memorable Songs. That same year, she released her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to love herself. Cara is famous for including messages about mental health love and self-love into her songs. The music she sings is reflective of her own struggles with mental illness and insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. Her growth was aided through therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers who need help to reach out for support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. Her birth date was July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian origins. When she was 10 years old, her parents bought her a guitar which became the foundation of her musical passion. In 2013, she performed her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known social media site. It was done to show that she had the talent and confidence to be an artist. Sweater Weather is among these covers which led to her being discovered to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write her own songs.
